Don’t expect a travel site recommending hot new holiday destinations, a party guide to bars or culinary tips to hip restaurants, this is a record of our breaks in everyday life. Follow along, or drop in anytime you might wonder “where's Erik and Robert these days?”

 

The trip that inspired this blog started with a conversation about how we would celebrate our 25th anniversary and Erik’s 50th in 2019. Travel’s always been our “couple thing” so we threw around ideas about where and for how long. Options included staying in one never-visited place per month for twelve months to a shorter six-month trip to the places we have loved the most. In the end, we landed somewhere in between: nine months and a mix of old and new places, some for a month but most a bit less. 

Now we continue writing together to capture our thoughts during our times away -mostly a record to look back on. Even if no one reads it, we will have it when we celebrate our 50th.

Why did we call it 2times25?

It’s been the 2 of us through our ups and downs over 25 years. We are creating more significant memories through this journey (and it also equals 50 to mark Erik’s big pending milestone).
